Terms & Conditions
The rules for operating on Command One — what you may investigate, how credits and worker nodes work, and the limits of our liability.
last updated · 3 August 2026
01Who you are contracting with
The seller of this service is Command One, a sole trader (self-employed, not an incorporated company), operating the site at com1.cloud. In these terms "Command One", "we" and "us" mean that seller.
These Terms & Conditions form a binding agreement between you and Command One covering the site at com1.cloud, the operator console and any worker infrastructure you connect to it.
By creating an account, ticking the acceptance box at signup, or using the platform, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use the platform on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these terms.
03What the platform does
Command One orchestrates open-source intelligence modules against selectors you provide, then normalises the results into a single findings view with confidence scores. It queries publicly accessible sources; it is a research aid, not an authoritative record.
Confidence scores are heuristics. You are responsible for independently verifying any finding before you act on it, and for any decision you make using the output.
04Your account
Keep your credentials secure and do not share your account. You are responsible for all activity under it. Tell us immediately at abuse@com1.cloud if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend accounts that appear compromised.
05Acceptable use
You agree to use Command One lawfully and proportionately. You must not:
- Investigate a person without a lawful purpose, or in breach of applicable data protection, privacy, anti-stalking or computer misuse laws.
- Use the platform to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, dox or discriminate against anyone.
- Use findings for employment, tenancy, credit, insurance or other regulated screening decisions where a licensed provider is required.
- Attempt to bypass credit limits, rate limits, authentication or row-level access controls, or access another operator's investigations.
- Attack, brute-force, exploit or excessively load target systems, our infrastructure, or third-party sources.
- Resell, scrape or redistribute platform output as a bulk data product, or misrepresent it as an official background check.
- Upload malware, or use the platform to breach any third party's terms of service in a way we have not enabled.
06Credits and fair use
Free accounts receive a daily credit allocation to keep the shared worker fleet usable for everyone. Free daily credits are a usage-metering device only: they have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and may be adjusted where abuse is detected.
You can also buy credit top-ups. Purchased credits do not expire daily and are consumed by premium modules. Prices are shown before you buy, inclusive of any applicable tax where required.
07Payments, billing and refunds
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, invoicing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. Our own refund commitment — a 30-day money-back guarantee — is set out on our Refund Policy page.
08Worker fleet and self-hosted modules
Some modules run on worker nodes. If you deploy your own worker, you are solely responsible for that infrastructure, its security, its licence compliance and the traffic it generates, including compliance with your hosting provider's acceptable-use policy.
Worker secrets must be kept confidential. We may revoke a worker secret that appears to be leaked or abused.
09Third-party open-source tools
The platform integrates or takes inspiration from independent open-source projects and public datasets, credited on our credits page. Those projects are provided by their authors under their own licences and are not endorsed by, nor affiliated with, Command One unless stated.
Availability, accuracy and coverage of third-party sources can change or disappear without notice.
10Intellectual property
We own the platform, its interface, branding and unified findings schema. You keep ownership of the investigations and notes you create, and you grant us a limited licence to process and store them so we can operate the service for you.
You may export and share your own reports; you may not remove attribution or present the platform's output as your own product.
11Availability
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and perform maintenance, without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that any module will return results.
12Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy or completeness of findings. Nothing in the platform is legal, financial or investigative advice.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, data or reputation. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months or GBP 100. Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your use of the platform in breach of these terms or applicable law, including claims by a person you investigated.
14Suspension and termination
You may stop using the platform and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these terms, if your use creates legal risk or harms the platform, or if required by law. On termination, your right to use the platform ends and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
15Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the date above and, for material changes, notify registered operators. Continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
16Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
